ANNE SOPHIE HAMILTON
As one understands the unreality, the utter nothingness, of material things, or of the so-called material creation, one is delivered "from the power of darkness." He has begun to resolve "things into thoughts;" or, in other words, to perceive or grasp the spiritual or real creation of perfect ideas. Thus he is translated "into the kingdom of his dear Son;" and this means health, harmony, joy, and peace. In this manner he exchanges "the objects of sense for the ideas of Soul."
To illustrate this, the writer would like to tell of an experience she recently had. There were some very fine fuchsias in her home, with many promising buds. But at a certain point of development the buds dropped off one after another, and it was with regret that she saw them falling. One morning she felt very strongly that this was not harmony; and of a sudden Mrs. Eddy's words quoted above about resolving things into thoughts came into mind, as did the citation from the Bible also quoted. Recognizing that mental work was needed, she immediately began to realize the truth concerning creation, in order to restore the flowers to their rightful place in "the kingdom of his dear Son." She no longer saw the little material flowers, because there are no such things in God's kingdom, and never have been; but instead she saw spiritual ideas, perfect, complete, indestructible, never for a moment separated from divine Principle, and never able to fall away from infinite Mind. The flowers were instantaneously healed: no more buds fell away, but every little flower unfolded beautifully. This experience was very helpful to the writer, showing her once more that Christian Science can heal every inharmonious condition if we are obedient to our Leader's teachings, always working and thinking in line with divine Principle.
To all who are unhappy, sad, poor, sick, or suffering Christian Science comes with healing from the false belief of separation from God, restoring them to their right place in "the kingdom of his dear Son." No one need any longer be unhappy. Opportunity and Love are waiting at the very door. "Whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely."
