Christian Science Testimony HEALING OF SORROW          For three years I was buried in so deep a sorrow that those about me thought I would not live. This was caused by the loss of my only child. It was the first sorrow I had ever experienced. I did not know that anyone could endure such an aching heart and live; but I did not believe God had anything to do with it, for I had read in the Bible that '"God is love." As the weeks went by my continual declaration was that there must be some truth that mankind had not discovered. I resolved to search until I found it. I recall how I went to great libraries and selected the highest spiritual works that they contained. These I devoured with a thirst for an unknown truth which I was sure must be found to save humanity from suffering.          My health was failing, and a physical ailment developed for which I endured operations, but without relief. One day my husband came to me with beaming face, saying that he had heard of Christian Science and that it healed. The name interested me, and I was induced to make an appointment with a practitioner. To her I related my tale of woe. Her first words after listening were, "Do you believe that God is the cause of suffering?" My reply was ready: "No! not if He is Love, as the Bible states." Her face at once revealed approval of my reply, and she said: "You are right. Your child lives!" And with this she declared the words of the living truth. As I returned to my home it seemed as though I had wings, and that my feet hardly touched the ground. I knew I had found the truth I had so earnestly sought. I was at once lifted from sorrow, and physical healing soon followed. I desire to express my love for Mary Baker Eddy, through whom the sacred truth is revealed in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures." This healing was in 1893; and since then I have witnessed many beautiful healings through Christian Science. Science and Health and other works of our beloved Leader, together with the Bible, are ever at my right hand, pointing to God as Life, Truth, and Love, the great Physician, who heals all our diseases.
