Christian Science Testimony SKIN DISEASE HEALED          I am very thankful to God for Christian Science. About six years ago I went into a public library in London to read, and came across a copy of The Christian Science Journal. What I read in it seemed very wonderful to me, as I had never heard of Christian Science before, and the testimonies of healing appealed to me very much. Since that time I have received great blessings through an understanding of its teachings. A serious skin disease has been cured, though I also tried doctors and other means, without avail, to please my parents. To those who have any doubts that God does heal through Christian Science, I would like to say that the disease of which I was cured was called by the doctors "lupus," which they pronounced practically incurable and a very terrible disease.          To those who find their progress slow, whether the desire and prayer is for health or for any other blessing, I would say, Do not give up, but hold on to the truth. In my own case the healing was slow, taking about two years, and at times I was discouraged, but through the patient help of a practitioner, and my own daily endeavor to know the truth, through God's great mercy I am healed. Two verses from the Bible which encouraged me to trust in God alone for healing, and which comforted when the way seemed dark, are Jeremiah xxiii:29, and Hebrews iv:12; also this passage from "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy (p. 243) brought me encouragement: "The divine Love, which made harmless the poisonous viper, which delivered men from the boiling oil, from the fiery furnace, from the jaws of the lion, can heal the sick in every age and triumph over sin and death."
