Christian Science Testimony MARVELOUS AWAKENING          . . . One Sunday, many years ago, I sat waiting to hear Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer of Christian Science, speak. I was a suffering, perplexed, and depressed young woman, suffering because physicians could not relieve the pain which had bound me from childhood; perplexed because ministers told me that God is Love, but that it is His will for man to suffer; depressed because I yearned with an overflowing heart to relieve the burdens of humanity, yet could not find the way. In this attitude I waited that Sunday morning. With a humility and tenderness and spiritual insight that I had never before felt, Mrs. Eddy revealed to me a loving sense of the presence of our God, and of the healing Christ, as truly in our midst as in the days when Jesus walked with men.          I left the church with a sense as different as a man who steps from a cave into the sunlight. The world was flooded with a new light. In this effulgence I beheld a new, a higher view of God, of life, of purpose, of peace, of all things. This marvelous awakening brought with it the greatest eagerness to study, with my Bible, the books written by Mrs. Eddy. Through this joyous study, pain vanished; and the path up the mountain was seen. I am only one of the millions who have proved that Christian Science brings courage to the discouraged, health to the sick, joy to the joyless, and God to the heart.
