Christian Science Testimony HEADACHES HEALED           It is with heartfelt gratitude that I send a loving tribute to what Christian Science has done for me. Prior to the time of my own physical healing, I was led to accept the teaching of Christian Science through the healing of a relative who had been a great sufferer for two years or more, and who had been unable to walk. To alleviate her continued suffering, she had become addicted to the use of an opiate, and when I saw her, "clothed" and in her "right mind," also walking upright (in her helplessness she had crept on the floor as a little child does) I wondered at the transformation. On hearing her tell that after trying everything the doctors prescribed, and being in no wise better, she had turned to Christian Science and in a few weeks was walking and praising God, — I was converted to Christian Science then and there. I believed the witness, although I had not then proven for myself how great and good is our God.           I had suffered with very severe headaches since childhood, and was told that they were inherited, as my mother had always been troubled with them. But what a comforting assurance was this: "It is our ignorance of God, the divine Principle, which produces apparent discord, and the right understanding of Him restores harmony" (Science and Health, p. 390). On the occasion of a very severe attack of headache, a friend who was a Christian Scientists came to make a social call, and seeing the bondage I was in, told me I did not need to suffer in this way; that Christian Science would help me, if I was willing to try it. Knowing of the case mentioned above, I was ready to receive the healing, and was advised to get Mrs. Eddy's book, "Science and Health," and study it. The next day I walked two miles to get the book, and commenced to read that glorious message for the first time.           This was nineteen years ago, and from that day I have used no material remedies, the thought of headaches having been long ago buried in oblivion. The Bible became a daily monitor, and a joy, for the "key" unlocked its treasures. For the many blessings which I have received since knowing the truth that this Science teaches, I feel more grateful than words can express, and it is only in giving to others of what I have been able to understand, that I can in a measure express my love and gratitude to our beloved Leader, who has brought to humanity the knowledge of our divine right to health and harmony.
