Christian Science Testimony
THE COMFORTER

Christian Science was first brought to my attention when I was a young girl at school, and I heard it spoken of then by those who were prejudiced against it. Very soon, however, I had an opportunity to see what it could accomplish, as my parents turned to it for the healing of my brother of a disease that was indeed a dark shadow in our home. Christian Science healed him in one treatment, given by a dear practitioner. Not only was he freed from sickness, but his disposition changed completely. His nature seemed to be transformed, for he no longer was an unruly, stubborn child. So receptive was he to Christian Science that he begged to be allowed to attend the Sunday school, and there he became such an eager student that he led me there also. My mother became an earnest student; and while she was neither well nor strong when she began this study, I saw the wonderful effect upon her health, for she became like a new woman.

Some time later a dear relative passed on. At this time Christian Science became to us the Comforter, lifting us above all sense of sorrow into the realization of the ever-presence of divine Love and of our inseparability from Love and from the real spiritual man. So great was this uplift, through the help of the same practitioner, that two more members of our family came into Christian Science.

Words can never express my gratitude for what Christian Science has done for me. My blessings have been innumerable. I have been healed of sick headaches, stomach trouble, catarrh, and other ailments. But, more than this, Christian Science has taken away mental unrest and given me happiness within. It has done wonderful things for me in school by giving me an ever available understanding of the one Mind and of our ability to express intelligence when we apply our understanding and faithfully study the lessons given us in school. In the business world I have found Christian Science indispensable. I am thankful for the inspiration to work that comes with the knowledge of the real man, and that daily we can be about the Father's business, seeking first the kingdom of God, and thus finding our daily needs supplied.
