Christian Science Testimony GLORIOUS LIGHT          In the Preface to "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. vii) Mrs. Eddy writes, "To those leaning on the sustaining infinite, to-day is big with blessings." Her words have been proved true to me. Through the study of Christian Science I have learned that God is Life, Love, and Truth.          In the year 1919 I was struck with blindness. This calamity came to me in a time of great distress. My state of thought manifested itself in this way, accompanied by unbearable pain, and the doctor recommended an immediate operation. I was taken to a hospital, and an operation took place the next day. I remained there several weeks, waiting anxiously for results. Words fail to describe my grief and discouragement when I discovered that the operation was not a success. I went home fearful and heartbroken, without any hope of ever seeing the light again. Mortal mind had then full sway over my thinking.          However, in my darkest hour there came the dawn. In my extremity Christian Science was recommended to me. That was over ten years ago. Since then Christian Science has been my guiding star. My journey from sense to Soul has been quite rough at times, but the error that claimed to be true did not get the better of me. I denied error by whatever name it called itself. The loving practitioners who were engaged to give me help were not able to disperse the dark cloud which enveloped my consciousness: it was meant for me to work out my own problem. Therefore I applied myself diligently to the study of Christian Science. Through the knowledge that the understanding of God brings light, and that in Him there is no shadow of turning, I gained the understanding of Jesus' saying, "If ye continue in my word, . . . ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."          Mrs. Eddy writes on page 103 of Science and Health, "The destruction of the claims of mortal mind through Science, by which man can escape from sin and mortality, blesses the whole human family." I have received that blessing. Christian Science has led me out of darkness into glorious light, for which I am exceedingly grateful. I now enjoy good eyesight and am thankful to Christian Science and its beautiful teachings. I was also healed of a rupture from which I suffered for thirty long years. Six years ago it disappeared. I was also healed of chronic indigestion and constipation.          I owe endless gratitude to our beloved Leader for leading me into the glorious liberty of spiritual Truth, where there is light in abundance for all. David sang, "Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!"          I am grateful for the healings mentioned above; I am grateful also for the Christian Science periodicals.
