HEALING OF A LACERATED LIP
I wish to give a comparison of healing between the material method and the spiritual. Our boy fell and lacerated his under lip; he was taken to a doctor and it was several weeks before it was completely healed. One day, after I had begun the study of Christian Science, our little girl fell and lacerated her lip quite as badly. I picked her up, declaring that God's idea could not be harmed, that God is ever present, the only power, and His reflection could not reflect anything but the perfect spiritual likeness. She slept for perhaps half an hour, and when I took her up there was no sign of any discord, no inflammation, and the lip was completely healed; and oh! the joy and spiritual uplift of knowing that our own right understanding of God and man the true man being perfect and spiritual, even as the Father is perfect does heal instantaneously and permanently, certainly is a blessing that one can never describe or know until he has realized that truth for himself. I have always been very grateful that when I began the study of Christian Science, I also began the study of the Bible. I am profoundly grateful for Jesus the Way-shower, for Mrs. Eddy, whose pure thoughts brought primitive Christianity again into practical everyday living, also to the many students of Christian Science for every step that has been pointed out that would bring me from the valley to dwell "in the secret place of the most High." My daily prayer is that I may do good to someone who is striving to gain a higher sense of God and man and for the unfoldment of the Bible as given in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures."
